Natural born optimist, who incorporated passion for ophthalmology in her life and professional development. Medical University of Warsaw graduate. During her studies she completed numerous trainings in renowned institutions abroad including Gillette Children’s Speciality Healthcare hospital in Minnesota (one of the largest centers of reference in the field of pediatrics) and Department of Public Health and Epidemiology in Australia.

Dr. Bilkiewicz- Pawelec obtained her specialization in the field of ophthalmology in Warsaw Center of Postgraduete Medical Education under the supervision of professor Iwona Grabska-Liberek and the Dietrich-Bonhoeffer Clinic in Neubrandenburg under professor’s Helmut Hoh guidance. During her specialization she participated in internships abroad and also worked in Epsom and St Helier University Hospital and prestigious optical center Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. Her professional success is a result of an enormous diligence and exceptional consistency in overcoming the challenges in life and work.

Ophthamology has been in the center of her interests for the last 13 years. Lately she has been devoted to the field of oculoplastics (a combination of ophthamology and plastic surgery) which became her true passion. In 2015 she accomplished her eighteen-month subspecialization in the field of oculoplastics in the John Radcliffe Hospital (one of the Oxford University Hospitals) under supervision of Mr Jonathan Norris, renowned eyelids reconstruction surgeon and thyroid orbitopathy specialist. During her practice in Oxford she performed over 650 operations. Her medical interests include diagnosis and treatments of glaukoma, cataracts, retina and corrnea illness and all issues concerning oculoplastics.

Dr Bilkiewicz- Pawelec is a perfectionist who values the importance of an individually tailored and thorough doctor-patient relations more than standard diagnosis and schematic medical thinking. It was her work abroad and her many apprenticeships which resulted in her devotion to ophtamology, oculoplastics and above standard care level. As a specialist in ophthalmology she uses traditional surgical methods (the eyelids tumors removal, eyelids reconstruction, skin grafts, obstruction of tear ducts operations, ptosis operations), as well as modern unconventional methods such as dry eye syndrome surgical treatment, the use of botulinum toxin (Botox) to treat excessive lacrimation and the paralysis of the facial nerve, or the treatment and conduct of patients with Graves' disease.

She is an author of many congress reports. She constantly extends her knowledge by participating in numerous courses, trainings and congresses abroad. Holding a firm belief that medical knowledge is not anyone's possesion and the next generation of doctors is required to surpass their predecessors she willingly shares her knowledge and experience. In the course of her specialization she was an author and co-author of grants in the field of innovative use of tissue adhesives, and others. Her defiant researcher spirit makes her look for more and more new ideas, methods and tools, aiming to help patients more effectively, and efficiently.

  • For the complete evaluation of the fundus it is necessary to use a mydriatic drops, which may cause blurred vision. We strongly recomment to abstain from driving up to 4 hours after the appointment,
  • Your visit may take up to 45 minutes,
  • Children are welcome over the year of 6 (we diagnose but do not treat strabismus/ squint eyes)
